Exchange problem with Tablet and C [answered]

Anyone having any ideas about things to check regarding problems getting Exchange sync working for email/calendar/contacts?

It works perfect with the original Jolla but when trying to set up an account on the Tablet or TypeC it gets stuck on the screen that appears after entering the login credentials. The screens shows "creating account..." and then hangs there forever. Guess it have something to do with our company's Exchange server. Problem is it that they only support iPhone and some selected Android devices so I most likely have to solve this myself.

Tried all settings that I can think of including changing the units to use device lock with long password if the server required something like that, but no difference.

Is there any log files or similar that could give a hint about what goes wrong?

Remember when you could use Exchange with Google Mail? Someday they denied new registrations via Exchange, but the old ones continued to work. Maybe something similar is going on with your company?

Mine has completely cut off exchange access from mobiles :-( Have to use some crappy Android OWA solution. MailCal works for me, StackMail would be even better, but requires Google Play etc.

Might be something like that.

I can still access my email via our web interface but annoying not getting notifications or being able to sync calender events and contacts. I have to look into this a bit more after my summer vacation (probably a good thing not being able to access work mail during vacation anyway)

I Have the same problem (Jolla C) - edit: got it working after reboot - the first time I tried was just after initial (fisrt) startup) of the phone - and the Language was different from the one I had selected (first start = English (bug) and only after second start the language chaged to the one I had selected (Finnish)

Same problems with 2.0.2.48. Stuck in a "creating account" loop.

Just got it working on both JollaC and Tablet.

Hard to describe exactly how I got past the "creating account" loop as I tried a number different things but I will try to list what I changed when I got it up and running:

  • Changed the device to use English (UK) as language.
  • Set the device to automatic locking after 5 minutes with an 8 digit code and max 4 retries (later I turned the lock off completely and the sync continues to work fine)
  • Entered my settings in the first Exchange configuration view and selected manual setup to be able to set server address and to make sure that both "Secure connection" and "Accept untrusted certificates" was checked.

(Here, when I pressed continue, the device normally got stuck in "creating account" loop but for some reason, with settings I am fairly sure that I already tried a couple of times before, it got past it to the next setup view)

  • In the second setup view, I am sure that I changed the "Provisioning" setting to enabled but later, when I looked at the settings, I could see that it is set as off on both my devices?!

After I got it working on the phone, I tried same procedure on the Tablet. Same thing here. I got stuck at "creating account" a couple of times but then, all of a sudden, I got past it to the second setup screen and since then everything seems to work fine.

Do not know if the language setting or the device lock made any difference. Could also have been some small setting that I have missed and then, without knowing, got correct or maybe some problem with our Exchange server. At least I now know that I can get mail/calendar/contact sync working on all my Jolla devices.

Hi @jesperC. I just got Exchange working on my oneplus X SFOS port. Each server is different and I had to have device lock enabled to allow the account to activate (ie 'provisioning' auto-enabled). You can turn that off after and best to 'resolve conflicts priority to server' so as not to annoy your IT dept too much. Another tip is for Office365 use your whole email address as username. Secure port is 443. Unsecured is 80.
