Hi,

when i trying to call someone my microphone is not working! Only via free speach i can talk. (mute is of cause not activated).

Talking via free speach only the below loudspeaker is active, which is also then a little bit to quiet.

I executed csd in order to evaluate it that is a hardware problem or not, but all audio tests are successfully passed!

What is this!? I cant use this phone! I would have expected some minor software bugs, but this?

Does anybody has the same problem?

#Update

  • Recorder App is working
  • Whatsapp voice call is not working either
  • Factory Reset also not helping

#Update

  • In the meanwhile whatsapp call and voice message is working, but still mic is not working during normal call.
  • that really speaks for software, so any idea what to check?

Please Jolla help! Any idea how i can futher debug, or might a reinstallation of the SFOS image help?

My mic works fine.

Sometimes I get a similar issue and I'm barely audible on the phone unless I switch to speaker phone mode. I'm using a Jolla 1 on SFOS 2.0.1.11.

My guess is that it might be related to noise cancellation

I've had similar issues - eg. mic stops working after exiting speaker mode or in speaker mode (this was no news for me since my Jolla1 did have the same problems)

This is still not working with 2.0.4/Fiskarsinjoki. I still cant make standard calls with my jollac, the support told me that this might be a software bug and they going after, but still no solution available?

I'm having exactly the same problem, got the same explanation as you from the support, but nothing happens. I had to get another phone while this is still a problem. I don't think it will ever be fixed, my hope was that I would get a replacement but there seems to be no interest from Jolla to fix this. I wonder how many devices are affected of this?

Since yesterday the loudspeaker of my Jolla C also does not work anymore, also not via CSD. Only the receiver playback test is working, and sound via headset (wired and bluetooth).

Therefore, i decided to reinitiate my Jolla1. After i put my databackup from Jolla C to Jolla1, the Jolla1 device reacts the same. No Loudspeaker sounds anymore!? That brings me into trouble as none of my devices is capable of calling anymore.

But at least it seems this is a software issue, maybe pulsaudio? is there any specialist that could help out here?

Ich checked CSD tool and I discovered suspicous behavour:

at the test for the below microphone it records from the upper microphone only.

When I'm speaking directly to the below mic the record is more quietly than I'm speaking directly to the upper mic.

So it seems there is a general proplem with CSD too or is the noise reduction algorythm responsible for that behaviour... Maybe the problem is even driver based?

Which part is the mic on this picture, the part which is covered with silver tissue?

Maybe I can replace it with an alternative part. Are there some specs of the original mic available?

Your issue sounds like a hardware failure. Could you try the CSD Tool again?

Hallo I'm affected from this problem too under 2.1.1.24. with Jolla C.

CSD says that my hardware is okay.

Are there some bugs in phone call ui or in the voice reduction part? How I can control the mic manually?

Are there any hints from Jolla side? Help would be much appreciated.
