If you click on your email notification it will open a blank e-mail you need to go back first and open it again before you can read you e-mail.
Edit: the bug has been resolved in 1.0.3.8
Re-opened 20.2.2014 cause several people have reported that the bug still exists in 1.0.3.8

Yup it's a bug related to opening single HTML email, is fixed in next update (1.0.3.8).
Edit: Fixed in 1.0.3.8, Naamankajärvi. Please comment here if you still see some problems. Also comment here if you can confirm this being fixrd.
Edi2: fix does not remove the isssue in 1.0.3.8 the problem is still present for some.

I received an HTML email this morning (I updated to 1.0.2.5 yesterday), tapped on the "1 new email" notification and got a blank white screen - had to go back to the inbox and open the email before I could see its contents.

The bug is still there, even in 1.0.4.20. But it seems to happen not so often as before. Some html-mails are opened correctly when tapping on the notification, some only show a blank page. Swiping back in the mail app to inbox and opening the mail again displays the mail correctly.
UPDATE: on version 1.0.5.19 the bug is NOT FIXED. Blank page is shown for example when opening one of those daily advertisement emails sent by Amazon.de by hitting the notification.

Improved in Sailfish 1.0.7.16, Saapunki, I still can't reproduce, if some still see this with this SW release please comment here with following info:
The behavior has actually increased with 1.0.7.16, compared with the two previous releases (I've just got my phone back from screen replacement, so I haven't had that much time with 1.0.7.16 yet, but I've got it twice in two days now).
The difference I've noticed compared to previously is that I don't even get the dots in upper left, to go back to the list view. Instead I'm forced to close the email app to make it usable again.

What I did
I was able to zoom in and out of the message and the back "dots" disappear if I leave it zoomed in. The "show images" header was showing which broke the dots if I zoomed in, so that I couldn't get them back regardless how I zoomed. When tapping "show images" the header disappeared and I could get the dots back if I zoomed out, but I still had blank email.

Next time you wake your phone, go directly to notification screen and tap a mail notification there will be a blank mail showing. Happened to me three times in a row now. Still just mail and phone app open. This is with 1.0.7.16.

This should be gone for good in 1.1.1.26, Vaarainjärvi, at least was not seen for long, if you still see this after the update, please comment here.

I can confirm this bug squashed. This issue has been solved in 1.0.3.8 update.
Edit: the issue has not been resolved in 1.0;3.8 as here are many reports of it being still.around.

This is definitely a bug. Sometimes it happens even if you open a just received email, and you have to go back to the list of emails and re-open it.
