Screen protectors

Well, topic is kind of self explaining... First one out is (quality) screen protectors!

@folix offers some for Jolla C too.

If somebody is willing to risk and see whether these flipcases are any good, I'm eager to know :) http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20160728042735&SearchText=aqua+fish+intex+flip+case

I ordered the atFoliX B01H5GQ10O but it has a hole at the bottom where the LED is located. Seems to be an error, so I contacted atFoliX and they promised to fix it asap.

atfolix a German company also sells screen protectors for the Turing phone and if you send them the dimensions they would also make Jolla 1 phone screen protectors. You can buy those on eBay as well.

@inta: They fixed that problem. I applied the atFolix Hybrid Fx today. My first impression is very positive: Fits perfectly, feels good (and no unnecessary holes :-) )

on my intx aqua fish i am using a back cover of lyf wind 4 which fits well , its not a perfect fit but its ok as a daily driver. the usb and 3.5 jack holes on the backcover are perfect but one hole for the flash has to be made. the speaker and mic are covered but they work well, no need to touch them. the positioning of holes on volume rocker and lock buttons is not good, volume buttons are way above the holes and i got the backcover for $1.

It looks great on Jolla C and it has several colors.

Karthikeyan.S ( 2017-03-11 10:29:15 +0300 )edit

I've found on this site the back panel for Jolla C https://www.maxbhi.com/back-panel-cover-for-jolla-c-red.html But how to buy it from India? They deliver within India only.

For my Jolla 1 I was offered a 3D impression from this file. The scheme being under a CC license, I think that it is possible to do a 3D conversion of this protection for the Intex Aquafish. One of you has t he capacity to achieve this adaptation ?

For the j1 a 3d file of the phone and TOH was available so a casing was easy to make. Afaik there's no 3d file available for the Aquafish so this is not so easy and the fitting would be more of a gamble....

rgrnetalk ( 2016-12-29 15:46:07 +0300 )edit

Still waiting for that file for Aquafish, thought it would be easier...3d printing seemed a solution to me to get a nice bumper case for a non mainstream phone.

I bought a cheap-o case on ebay to wrap around my Jolla-C and its not too bad.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291899631106?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=590898281451&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Claims to be for an Intex Aqua Ace, but the dimensions of the ace are about the same as the fish. The slide-up facility for the camera is also the correct amount.

I bought this one for my Intex Aqua Fish from the same seller:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Intex-Aqua-Ace-Clamp-Style-PU-Leather-Wallet-Case-Cover-/302117854029?var=600935012594&hash=item4657a09b4d:g:bVEAAOSwUEVYDdXM

I think it's exactly the same clamp system as in that other one and they seem to be very alike in other respects too. Somewhat flimsy, but seems to do the job. I got the orange one, it matches Aqua Fish's colour quite nicely.

Though if you want to keep the mobile right in the vertical middle for maximum protection, then the slide-up facility for camera doesn't quite rise high enough for the flash (?) hole under the camera.

A capable DIY man of course drills a couple of holes into the back cover for the camera and the flash, and maybe for the led in front too.

Covers & Pouches

I found these accessories on SnapDeal for the Aqua Fish. I don't know if they fit or how good they really are, but anyway:

There are probably more in there. Just search.

It is interesting that this is the only online merchant website where I can find some accessories. Is it maybe because they are part of the indian partner-space ?

EDIT: Okay I might've been wrong flipkartseems to have some too: http://www.flipkart.com/search?q=intex aqua fish

Screen-Guard

I found nothing specific, but one made for the MI 3 seemed to fit. I have documented that in the following post: https://together.jolla.com/question/145248/info-screen-guard-for-aqua-fish/

They are generic 5 inch phone accessories, and not specific to AquaFish. There are no AquaFish specific accessories available anywhere in Indian e-commerce stores

libregeekingkid ( 2016-08-09 05:46:22 +0300 )edit

@libregeekingkid True. I had to use an MI3 screen guard for myself. Added the post I wrote about it to my answer.

Does this work? Care to post an example?

It works quite well. However, I don't have one myself. I gave it to someone, as a gift.

Cases

Mapbagrag updated their Jolla collection with suitable cases for the Jolla C:
https://www.mapbagrag.com/cat/index/sCategory/131

If you like flipcase, this one available from sbs is a perfect fit. I just attached my phone to one of them.

Mapbagrag looks absurdly overpriced. Most custom-sized bags websites such as fitbag and yomix have similar bags for half the price. Is this special paper-like material really worth the premium?

Federico ( 2016-08-08 11:02:52 +0300 )edit

disadvante of the sbs flipcase: it has to be glued to the back cover

tad ( 2016-08-09 12:33:41 +0300 )edit

@tad Well, not permanently. There's an adhesive pad that can actually be detached and reattached. Besides that, you can open the phone back cover without detaching it from flip case.

eson ( 2016-08-09 13:04:15 +0300 )edit

not permanently? good to know

tad ( 2016-08-09 14:08:42 +0300 )edit

You know, mapbagrag is ecological safe stuff, so
