AquaFish has Play Services Pre-installed

asked 2016-07-28 21:47:41 +0300

I was just browsing through the all apps and found that Intex AquaFish has Google Play Services Pre-installed. Can anyone confirm this cause AFAIK on jolla C there are no Play Services. May be INTEX has permission from Google to include them in phone.

You can see these screenshots

Interesting. Intex as a company probably has a license agreement because they sell Android phones. If this really covers installing proprietary Google applications on non Android devices is an interesting legal question.

sounds like intex is pulling a schwifty and hoping Goog doesn't notice and revoke their gapps licence for their whole range...

This is a great move. It will make the phone much more appealing to the general public.

Which, as an expert, you might try to find out in your spare time, ossi. ;)

what about charging time? how much time it takes to get fully charged? please share screenshot of battery stats

Interestingly there is no battery stat screen where you can see the detailed battery usage... I have installed 3rd party app but they are also not that satisfying. For me the battery is draining very fast but then I am using it w/o any simcard and connected to wi-fi only..

Can you remove it completely if you wanted to? Like how it is on Jolla C.

You're right, that's the interesting question. After all, not being trapped into "Brave New Google World" with all of its "Services" is one of the reasons why ppl choose Sailfish in the first place.

You can uninstall both Google Play store and Google Play services.. It might impact few apps that rely on Google Play services.

@Mystel That's quite great:). How would you go about doing that? Would it put it at the same state as Jolla C? In terms of not having it installed at all.

@ossi1967. That is indeed true:). Its different in terms of only running Dalvik.

@etsoy I am not sure about that. I have seen the uninstall option but I did not uninstall them.

@Mystel Thats quite great. So you saw an uninstall option for the play services you mean?
