@Magog - I don't understand - could you clarify if this question is for Europeans / Americans who have tried to purchase from ebay.in? Else these brief customer reviews - ebay seller 1, ebay seller 2 and amazon.in seller - gives a good idea of the online buyers' experience, so far.

@MJolla - I think you should convert your comment to an answer. The credit card copy and credit card summary is additional verification by ebay to ensure that you are not using somebody else's stolen card. Tip: If you sent it by email to ebay, delete that sent mail. If somebody hacks your email account, that info would be like a gold mine for them.

Just got mine, declared as $50 gift and I didn't even know it's there until it arrived (notification from eBay with tracking number was one day late). The box was opened, but the phone itself seemed almost untouched. I had to pay 47 PLN VAT tax, roughly 23% of the declared value. So I guess it was a success, even though I had to wait for almost a month.

Lucky you. Your phone was sent by India Post or DHL ? If this first that explains all. DHL rarely doesn't require invoices or other payment confirmations.

It was sent by DHL. The seller did include an invoice though.

In my case seller also did include invoice for the amount of $50, but DHL stated that declared value is undervalued and they demanded payment confirmation... therefore, I still stand by opinion that this method doesn't always work.

That method doesn't work or at least not always work. I'll present my case. I bought at an auction from this link. Package was marked as a gift and declared value was 50 USD. The seller sent package after 11 days of payment. I didn't get a tracking number so I couldn't track it. On next day after seller has shipped the phone shipment arrives to customs warehouse (DHL). On the same day I got a call from the customs agent, that is a problem because CE certificate is missing so I have to declare that the package be returned to sender or they destroy it by a commission ... and if I understood correctly I must pay for it. I wondered for two days in nerves what to do and in meantime customs agent supporting my cause was changed (previous went on vacation). Fortunately, there were no more questions about the CE mark. I must just send a screenshot of the auction and proof of payment from PayPal. Two days later I had a package in hand, after paying 158 PLN VAT tax. The package had red sticker "SECURITY CHECKED" ... When I look at an inside I found torn bubble wrap and opened phone box. Phone box was slightly damaged and full of dirty fingerprints. There was no screen foil with printed phone parameters (someone threw it) and a battery was inside the phone - discharged to zero. I don't know if it was the cold or for what, but I had problems with charging the battery to 100%. Once battery was fully charged and I turn on the phone it turned out that someone used this phone: there was saved WiFi network and a paired Bluetooth phone. I thought it was the seller sent me a refurbished equipment, but circumspect seller shot photo of original box with visible IMEI numbers before sending. I was informed at DHL that package was x-rayed in New Delhi and for 4 hours were "security check".

I bought mine from Lowpriceshoppee on Ebay.com. I got the re-listed PayPal-payable one, as I didn't want to be emailing my credit card info around the internet. I bit at the price of $92.50, but they seem to since have re-jacked the price up to $98.00

I bought it on November 10th, they shipped it on Nov 14th, it was registered in Mumbai on Nov 17th, the parcel landed in Finland on Nov 22nd, Customs Post reported having gotten their hands on it Nov 23rd, I paid the toll/VAT of ~EUR 26.xx on the morning of Nov 24th, the Post continued with some movements on the parcel on Nov 25th, it was registered in Helsinki on Nov 28th and I got it from my local post office as a "registered letter" on Nov 30th.

The beautiful Intex package was wrapped in an amount of bubble wrap in a heavily-taped envelope.

I lost maybe a day by not checking on NetPosti on Nov 23rd, as the Notice of Arrival of Customs-Declarable Parcel from the Customs Post had come there around noon that day; and maybe a few Euros by stupidly allowing PayPal to rob me with their own conversion rates instead of telling them to charge my Visa in the original USD price. Other than that everything went great.

Buy from eBay with no issues whatsoever to ship to the USA paod with paypal:

$127

Intex Jolla Phone

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/322197286498

You have to sign package as it is delivered by DHL so you might just want them to semd it to the distribution facility and hold it there for pickup to avoid that headache. Also ebay account and shipping address need phone number enter 2000000000 as a placeholder.

I live in Austria. I ordered one from ebay end of October. It took a while (~3weeks) + ~120€ + custom tax ~23€. The phone is here and working. Very nice! The only downside is the charger. It does not fit and if I am about to use it I need an adapter. Amazing phone. I am in a process of testing and preparing it to replace my Nokia N9.

Here's my story: I sucessfully bought my intex aqua fish from ebay.in from seller lowpriceshoppee. I didnt have a paysa account, so I payed on october 4, with a virtual credit card MBnet, for the sake of security. They didnt complaint and accept payment on october 7. Phone was shipped on october 11. Then, from the tracking number: - october 15, shipped internationallly - october 25, arrived at Lisbon, Portugal. - october 26, sent to office of exchange (customs) - november 3, send item to domestic location - november 7, unsuccessful item delivery attempt (I was not at home) - november 9, I went to mail office to pick it up. Yeah !!! Phone price was about 82€+20€ shippiment. Altought it was marked as a gift by the seller, customs charge me an extra 40€, almost half the price of the phone :-( they never asked me any documents or proof of purchase. Overall I very happy, it's a great phone for that price, and I'm enjoying a lot Sailfish OS.

Just picked up my Intex Aquafish, everything went without a hitch.

I ordered it from ebay.com from lowpriceshoppee, payed via PayPal, delivery to the Netherlands.

  • Price: $82.50
  • Shipping: $26.00 (converted to EUR it was something around €97)

Timeline:

  • 2016-09-07 - Ordered, estimated delivery Sep 20 - Oct 04
  • 2016-09-09 - Got India Post tracking number (it never worked, tho)
  • 2016-09-22 - Attempted delivery, I apparently wasn't home (or more likely didn't hear the doorbell)
  • 2016-10-04 - Picked it up from a post collection point

The package was unopened and I didn't get any customs declaration (although judging by previous experiences I still might receive a letter from the customs to pay a fee).

Now on to removing the Intex bloatware and setting it up as a proper replacement for my aging Jolla...
