---> it'd be great if one could purge unwanted entries out of the VKB's dictionary by some handy hacking instructions until a better solution / functionality will be available.

Some blame Android apps for this issue - all I ever installed have been 4 Android apps: Opera, kindle reader, VLC Player and makimono. But I don't think if it's them that could be blamed for. Login into Google's Playstore or maybe Jolla's store are more likely being responsible to this issue - unfortunately my passwords to these two stores are identical ;-) - but other than my email passwords. I never did any webmail or sensitive online banking in Android's Opera browser: first I haven't informed enough about the trustworthiness of Opera's Android edition, second as I uninstalled Opera again because it wouldn't allow a fluent playback of arte 7+ video content. The jolla browser does it way better :-) (except for screen rotation :-/) ...

I'm sorry if I misunderstood that question earlier, but posting another question about the same thing is contra-productive. Instead you should re-open your old question, or, if you can't do that, post a comment in that question stating that your question was misunderstood and wasn't answered.

I agree that there has to be implemented a feature when tapping on any word proposal above the VKB you could take control of it ( purge / appearance / affiliation / priority ).... and maybe if tapping in between proposals you're able to manage general VKB cache settings / dictionaries ....

But apart that: there has to exist an effective alternative right now to purge out unwanted / sensitive / inappropriate cached items. This is what this - currently relaunched - question here is all about. Thanks !

Pkease don't write (your) answer to the question title, but rather describe the current behaviour ot exsting problem in the question description, and let ppl provide answers in Answers section. Thanks..

Clearly a more enhanced VKB functionality should not require ad-hoc hacks. Sailfish's VKB should be seen on future tablets as well. So a more future-proofed VKB approach requested here: https://together.jolla.com/question/14249/feature-request-advanced-integrated-vkb-contents-dictionary-management/

In Jolla version (Tahkalampi) there is an button to "Clear learned words":

  1. start "Settings" app
  2. Goto "System" -> "Text Input"
  3. there, you can see a button "Clear learned words"

I have not tested this button yet, but I guess it might do, what you want. (On the other hand, it will remove all other words defined by you, too. This might not be desired. So there is still possibility to improve.)

Currently your options to clear cache is doing factory reset or doing "rm -rf /home/nemo/.local/share/xt9/*". Both are quite brutal operations and will clear the whole cachedb. == NOT RECOMENDED FOR NORMAL USERS.

Thanks @rainisto ! .... I'll leave the question open for some while as I think that: (A) there should be a long-term solution to control contents of the VKB cache (B) there must exist a (non-normal user's / non-factory-reset) option right right now to purge out already stored options in the cache

What kind of files are they @rainisto? I see cp_pinyin.udb and xt9.dlm.
