Approximately after 2.0.1 update notes app crashes when I reach center of notes list or straight crashes when I open notes app in landscape mode. It freezes and begins to eat memory. Starting app from console gave me no answer. Reboot didn`t help me...
So, I can`t reach my oldest notes.
Any ideas how to fix it?

I had the same problem on my OTH; the problem is the ammount of text in the note; apparently, notes is too efficient and tries to render everything without clipping text; so if there's alot (of text), it will eat up memory and die as soon as it runs out of it. Only solution is to get rid of the extra text from the notes db, or wait for Jolla to fix it :/

Fortunately I write app for exporting notes. Yes maybe I will try to delete some notes in db... but I think I have less than 0.5 megabyte of notes. I think it is not a big amount of text.

I think its maybe not so much about the ammount of text, rather the size of the texture required to render it. But that's speculations only.

How I fixed it:

I found db file "~/.local/share/jolla-notes/QML/OfflineStorage/Databases/", copied it on my PC, understood that DB-file is brokean. Then I extracted all data to the plain text (to save important notes) with my app "Exporter." (you can find it on openrepos / Jolla Store). After that I deleted db file from my phone. Then I started Notes app and the app created new empty (not broken) db file. Now notes app works correct.

P.S. You can use app "Editor.". If you want to save your notes as plain text.

Thank you very much for your help!

I didnt't want to mess with openrepos, so I simpy copied the .sqlite file to a computer and opened it in a SQLite browser to check and copy its contents.

Only time will tell whether re-creating the db will be enough. My take is that an exceedingly big note (as in my case) crashes the app every time.

Great!

But the app is also published in Jolla Store (harbour) not only in openrepos.
