So with the latest Sailfish release ("Aurajoki" 2.0.2.48) I'm happy to report that CardDAV sync with Horde is finally working, and I can now start using my Jolla, which has been sitting in a drawer for over six months! But I've quickly run into another issue: I had way too many contacts in my address book, and to clean them up I created a second address book in Horde called "Archive" and moved those contacts I no longer need into it. This didn't stop the Jolla from keeping these contacts, at first I thought because it uses the "principal" URL for CardDAV and will find the "Archive" as well as my "Main" address book, but even after deleting the "Archive" from Horde and re-syncing multiple times the old contacts still appear in the "People" app on the Jolla. How can I get rid of them!?

I did this for a clean fruux account:

  • delete the carddav account on the phone
  • look what's left in the people app. There should be no contact infos from carddav left.
  • any important Info not on your carddav server?
  • make a backup on your phone
  • delete all contacts with settings/apps/people (pulley menu) on the phone
  • create new account for your carddav server on the phone
  • sync

The people app should just show the contacts from your carddav server now.

Hi! Would you tell me how do you set the carddav/caldav account?(server, path,SSL,..) I have read many post to do it but not work. I have a Openmailbox account and I tried it all.

To get Horde to work I had to set up a redirect for the principal URLs in Apache, see https://wiki.horde.org/CardDAV otherwise the Jolla would not find the endpoints. After that I just used the server address as the URL.

It is a great help if you're able to tail the Apache log file while setting up your account - this way you'll be able to see what URLs the Jolla is hitting, and what the response is (401, 404, 302, 200, etc).

Also, since I have a self signed certificate, I had to edit my account on the Jolla after setting it up, and check the "ignore SSL errors" checkbox. This option is not available when adding the account.

Thanks a lot, now I have something to start and work for the weekend.
