Nokia has issued statements about releasing their smartphones in the Q4 of 2016. HMD and FIH is doing it on behalf of Nokia. So it is high time for Jolla to approach HMD / FIH to use SAILFISH OS in their upcoming phones. It will help Jolla to induce more handsets among users. Specially in India and Russia Nokia is a very popular and reliable brand so people will easily accept the handsets. If Turing phone can be approached for SF OS then why not Nokia as it's acceptibility is far more than Turing. Let's raise our voice on this topic. Comments, suggetions and criticism are most welcome.

As far as I remember reading, Nokia will only be licensing their brand name to certain OEM to make and sell devices using their name. Nokia thus won't be much involved in device development.

That's true but Nokia will have important place in the borad of directors . Also the top officials of HMD are from old Nokia. So they always have a influence on the product design and key decisions. Thus there is always a chance in my view .

@partha9940 - Oh, ok. I was not aware of that. Sounds interesting.

If Nokia had any goodwill towards Jolla they would have gifted them Meego Harmattan

I got lumia 640 it was too cheap 35$ so i bought it. It's NOKIA! I missed it so bad. I totaly agree that Nokia MUST release it's phones with Sailfish OS. It will blow the market. I would buy top model without thinking!!!

I wish those Lumia devices were available with Android - and some of them with Meego Harmattan...

But there would be no Sailfish then... ;)

Nokia will not - and should not - use Sailfish as primary OS on any coming phones in near future. They have to gain masses and footprint before.

Only thing we can hope for that Nokia leaves bootloader open and Jolla will support them. In ideal case with out-of-box dualboot...

Nokia phone with sailfish only would be perely insane atm. On the other hand I would buy it instantly! ;)

Nobody is saying Nokia should make Sailfish-only devices. They should not make them Android-only too, however.
