Hello,

I searched here earlier posts about glass damage and its replacement options and the latest one dates 2015, if the "search" works well. I'm extremely disappointed by Jolla customer service. When it needs our support, we support it, why Jolla doesn't support its customers?

I wrote this message to them: "My Jolla was dropped from a small distance, it didn't fell that bad but since then vertical and horizontal lines appear on the screen, it's also flickering and graphics is doubled. There are not any cracks or scratches on the screen, i.e. no physical damage externally. It's so sad that Jolla phone couldn't withstand even a small drop, has never happened to my previous phones :( A small drop of the device is unavoidable during one's lifetime and I think a phone with such a price shouldn't get damaged so easily." The biggest problem was that the lines after the drop was really small and bearable but in the following days they evolved and "leaked" throughout the whole glass. It is impossible to use the phone even though it worked otherwise. So, my loved Jolla is just trash now.

What I get in (automatic) response is:

"We are sorry to learn of this. The fault you have described is not covered by our warranty policy. Unfortunately we are unable to provide any visibility as to when we might be able to accommodate your case. This is primarily due to a lingering spare parts shortage - we continue to work to resolve the situation. We've taken note of your request, and should the situation improve we may contact you via your original support request. Our apologies for this difficult situation and the inconvenience this may cause."

So, even after the latest post from 2015, there is no help. This reply tells, in fact, nothing. And I'm right here, in Finland!

Has anybody successfully replaced the glass by him/herself? Or has anybody got any support from Jolla?

Why are you complaining? You're the one who dropped the phone. For some reason it broke.

Sorry, what? :D :D I hope you're kidding. Just in case, if you are not:

I'm complaining because

  1. The device itself is crap - poor quality. A 400-euro (lately 200 euro) phone shouldn't be becoming trash for "some reason".
  2. There is no realistic customer support from Jolla
  3. No spare parts available

And I'm not the only one disappointed here. Please browse a little.

Oh yes, and I also had a question after complaining. I'd appreciate if you could answer. Thanks.

It's three years old by now and the warranty of nearly everyone who bought it has long run out, Jolla no longer does hardware so their hardware support is being phased out, what exactly do you expect? You broke your phone, it didn't break itself. I've had my phone for almost three years now and it doesn't even have a scratch. Many others have dropped it before and nothing happened to their phone either. You're free to complain endlessly about the subpar internals for the price, but complaining about the build quality because you dropped your phone at a specific angle which broke it is crazy.

There is also no indication of a question in your title, so I don't see how you could expect an answer to it.

  1. It's 2 years old.
  2. I haven't asked to repair within warranty.
  3. Once again, if previous messages were unclear, phone was dropped from an airplane chair to the carpet of the airplane - phone becomes trash - happens only when the phone quality is trash.
  4. You've been lucky so far. Congratulations!
  5. Haha, because it's a title in the title, not a question :D

I'm not going to give a lecture here to a specific user why bad (or no) customer service is bad for the company. If you want to be an advocate to Jolla's customer service, you're welcome to do endlessly. But I expect relevant answers to my questions from other users. Have a nice day!
