It's not possible to set date nor time for an event in the calendar app.

for me it is possible to create and edit events in the native calendar app. i am on aurajoki, too. It should be possible to edit an event by tapping on it (not on the date entry, but at the bottom of the calender.) a pulley menu should occur with edit entry...

Well it is possible, I have just done so. However, there are certain calenders which are sort of read only, in my phone for example events imported from facebook are non-editable. Might be a configuration issue?
