CodeReader 0.7.11 does not scan. This is known (comments in jolla harbour). But now I tried former versions (which worked for me) and I have the problems also with these. Is there a correlation to 2.0.2.51? I am really sure that I used a former version before upgrading which worked. And after upgrading I used the updated CodeReader again.

[Update] Some more debugging: When scanning I get:

QZXing::decodeImageEx:133 - [decodeImage()] Exception: Too little dynamic range in luminance

So where can I expand the luminance range?

... and I am on 2.0.4.14 now...

I had this issue on former version of Sailfish OS as well, it was gone after I had to do a factory reset

i'm running 0.7.11 on 2.0.2.51 without problems (even been in between on some 2.0.3.x and worked as well) so it seems to be not version based problem?

Doesn't work more with Sailfish OS 2.3.1.7: the problem seems to be the non-production of an image into ~/.cache/harbour-barcode/ folder. The author seems to know the problem.

Looking at Codereader's issue #34 on Github, a fixed version of Codereader (v0.7.12 and more recently v0.7.13) is already available at OpenRepos.net (and Codereader seems to be actively maintained again).

CodeReader 0.7.13 is working fine under SailfishOS 2.1.3.7 (tested on a Jolla 1 phone and by others on Xperia X ).

For the new version there's another problem: it keeps showing "screenshot captured" on the top, even after the codereader already closed. Is this my own problem?

With release 0.7.13 the code recognition works under SailfishOS 2.1.3.7, but I am not satisfied with the result. My app uses the creation of screenshots to analyze individual images from the camera's viewfinder. Under 2.1.3.7, however, a notification is now displayed for each screenshot created. Since the notifications are stored on a stack, they are still displayed after the scan is finished or even after the application has been closed. This gives the impression that the application creates additional screenshots even after exiting, but this is not the case.

With the QVideoProbe class, Qt offers an elegant way to read individual frames from the camera. Unfortunately, the implementation under SailfishOS does not accept an object of the class QCamera.

I have decided to withdraw my application from the Jolla Store as long as there is no clean solution to the problem. Under https://openrepos.net/content/steffenf/codereader the application remains available.

Contributions are welcome, see https://github.com/steffen-foerster/sailfish-barcode/issues/37

This app is missing in harbour! (SailfishOS 2.1.4.14). See also here.

As steffen wrote in the first answer. You can find it on openrepos.
