I would definitely love to see jingle support in SailfishOS. Maybe later?

EDIT: I see, that KDE Telepathy and Empathy are supporting jingle already over telepathy framework. XMPP in SFOS is telepathy too, or am I wrong? Maybe support is just a few steps away?

I'd like to see this too, but bear in mind "jingle" covers signalling for all sorts of media sessions (file transfer, video and audio chat etc).

I don't think telepathy-gabble supports jingle file transfer (XEP-0234), which is what I'd like to see the most (for compatibility with the Android client Conversations).

Best to clarify exactly what you're after, even if it is the complete list of jingle specs! http://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Tech_pages/Jingle

For filetransfer I would prefer HTTP File Upload (XEP-0363) which should also be integrated, I think.

They use telepathy, yes, but that's only half of it. You need to integrate whatever Jingle can do for you into the respective GUI applications. For example if you implement Jingle video chat, you need to update the telephony app to make video calls, make calls to XMPP-accounts rather than to plain numbers, let the user select which kind of call he's about to make..... These stock applications haven't received much love ever since the Jolla 1 hit the market in 2013, so I wouln't count on Jolla implementing those things any time soon. (Which is a pity: A phone built around free software should be best in class when it comes to supporting open standards.)
