PORT SailfishOS to Yu Yutopia(currently running Cyanogen OS 12.1) [not relevant]
Ahoy Sailors
Currently working on porting Sailfish OS to Yu Yutopia (CyanogenOS 12.1 ; ISA Supported: ARMv8-A (A32, A64))Device Detail : https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Sambar_Info
Issue 1 > Will the 32-bit SailfishOS run on the 64-bit phone, as Yu Yutopia is a 64-bit phone ? Issue 2 > I added the following lines as per the SailfishOS-HADK :
$ANDROID_ROOT/.repo/local_manifests/$DEVICE.xml: <manifest> <project name="CyanogenMod/android_device_lge_hammerhead" path="device/lge/hammerhead" revision="stable/cm-11.0"> <project name="CyanogenMod/android_kernel_lge_hammerhead" path="kernel/lge/hammerhead" revision="stable/cm-11.0"> </project></project></manifest>
NOTE : Replaced lge by yu (device vendor) Replaced hammerhead by sambar (codename) Error observed : device not found.
one solution found : 1. Pull the file from your device: cd /your/repo/path adb pull /system/etc/build-manifest.xml .repo/manifests/cm-xx.0.0.xml
Any help appreciated.
Thanks & Regards Kumar Abhishek
the best place where you can ask this questions and get answers is freenode channel sailfishos-porters.
If I remember correctly 64-bit processors are not supported at the moment.
On next mer meeting there will be discussion about implementing support for 64-bit processors https://together.jolla.com/question/54157/sailfishos-open-source-collaboration-meeting-planning/
atlochowski ( 2016-09-16 08:29:12 +0200 )edit@atlochowski The Z3735F CPU in the Jolla Tablet is 64-bit, as is the MT6753 in the upcoming Oysters SF.
Giacomo Di Giacomo ( 2016-09-16 10:08:46 +0200 )edit@Giacomo Di Giacomo, 64bit x86 isn't ARMv8, and we dont know how far along that Oysters phone is, but no porters have managed to get a working sfos on an ARMv8 device as of yet.
r0kk3rz ( 2016-09-16 11:55:02 +0200 )edit@r0kk3rz, atlochowski stated that 64-bit processors are not supported, not that ARM 64-bit processors are not supported, and that's not true since there's at least one 64-bit processor supported (the Atom in the tablet). The MT6753 is ARM and if it's true that it's coming then it's going to be supported soon.
Giacomo Di Giacomo ( 2016-09-16 12:41:49 +0200 )edit@Giacomo Di Giacomo, considering the question is about ARMv8 specifically, i'm sure you can read between the lines and realise he meant 64bit ARM.
