I'd find it tremendously useful if there were a button within the camera app that leads directly to the photo gallery.

You can, by swiping from the left to right. There you can directly access your photos.

From camera app/UI you can do a L->R swipe to display the last pic(s) taken with the camera. from there you can even share the pic with the same options you find in Gallery, create ambience via option in pulley menu, etc.

Update from the pulley menu you can also delete bad photos, you don't like

I had not found that, yet. Thank you.

There should be an indicator for that gesture, imho - and I still think a "view photos in gallery" button would be a good addition.

Once I learned about the trick, it becomes second nature, and at least for me having a button will not be helpful as it clutters the UI and goes against the idea of using gestures instead of buttons. The feature is also mentioned in the user guide under Camera section.

no please no buttons. thats the whole idea with sailfishos. less buttons. As soon as you now it there is no need for buttons. And the more apps that actually use swipe the more normal it will be...

Perhaps adding some hint to this function would be helpful, I didn't found it either (for example, the same little dots that warn you there are more pages in the store).

This is explained is the user guide, second sentence of the Camera section. And you see the picture moving away to the left so I find that natural to try to go seeing it by pulling right :)

To access pics and videos, you can do a short swipe from left to right in the cam app (like in the gallery to change from one pic to an other).

It's not the Gallery app, but it gives you a short access to the pictures/videos you have taken.

In the camera app, we can swipe to the right for viewing photos & videos , and select to share with pulley menu.
