Hi guys!

Forgot my security code (didn't used the phone last 18 months). The device is locked now. Tried dozens of possible codes (in the recovery console). I want to reset my phone without sending it to Jolla Care (this was the answer from support). Do I have any option?

Thanks, Silviu

I had also my phone locked, so I did a factory reset:

  • Enter the phone into Recovery Mode and plugin the USB Cable
  • Connect to 10.42.66.66 with telnet, Port 23
  • a command prompt will open, choose factory reset

Your stored data on the internal SD are lost, external SD card will not be changed.

If t does not work, you could try to flash factory image. Let me know, if you have success, or need more info about the factory image.

For every option in the recovery mode I need the security code. Please give some info about flashing the factory image. Thanks!

I think you need also your securtiy code to dd the factory image to the storage of your phone.

ok. I remember now. Sorry, in my case my son tried, what happens if he gave in the wrong code several times, so he remembered the correct code. I think you need the code for flashing as well. See here, how to flash to factory state: view Readme.txt

100% - You still need to know your lock to factory reset.

This particular question about forgotten device codes always yields the same answer - "send the phone to Jolla at your cost".

Cool. So trial and error (5 tries every reset - prolly 2 years:)) or bye, bye Jolla. Thanks, guys!

The bootloader is locked. I have access to fastboot and ssh shell. There is a slim chance to have Wifi network saved in the profile. I want to test SOS 2.0. Can I?

if you have devmode enabled and remember password, you can modify files under /usr/share/lipstick related to devicelock to disable lock code prompt

if you have bootloader locked and have no access to fastboot, or if your phone doesnt automatically connect to some wifi spot and you have no access to ssh shell, you cant unlock phone. the only way is send phone to jolla care.
