Is 4G software defined or hardware. Would be nice to get 800Mhz instead of 850. Could the Software update see were youre at so the right update is being downloaded. Europe for instance.

Yes @Dickus, but this dependes on the manufacturer of the hardware and not on the developer of the OS

However the linked thread does not contain a working solution. My guess is that it simply is not possible due to differences in e.g. RF frontend and/or antenna.
