when my Jolla C is connected to my Ford Focus - Synch onboard system - there is no indication about incoming SMS in car infotainment system.

Of course, neither viewing nor creating new text message is possible: "connected phone is not compatible with sending sms via Bluetooth" is the error message, or so...

Good old Nokia N9 works like charm, of course... ;)

Sailfish needs Bluez 5 for Message Access Profile (MAP). As far as I know an upgrade of Qt is planned and bring Bluez 5 with it.

Yes, the abbreviation "MAP" is not advantageous. Bluetooth SIG should have thought twice about their naming.

PS: Ford. Running on embedded Windows. You must be very pain resistant?

not question of pain resistance... ;) next one will be Focus, too - but AFAIK Windows is dropped from Fords recently...

As long as it doesn't control the engine, driving and brakes it should be okay. I made jokes about Ford/Windows-Embedded years ago and now they filled a class-action against Ford because it terribly sucks :D
