Searching for names with accents in contacts doesn't yield results
If a contact has an accent in their name, especially in the first character, they become invisible in the People app, although they are in the contacts database. E.g., an Icelandic name such as Ásta won't show either in the contacts list and cannot be found.
No problem here with French accented characters (é è ê ë etc.)
objectifnul ( 2016-10-31 16:21:48 +0300 )editI can't reproduce either. I tried even the given name “Ásta”. I already have names both containing and starting with â, ŝ, ĝ, ĵ – no problem.

I am also unable to reproduce this problem, where as prior to the last OS update, I was able to reproduce the problem. What OS version are you using @Walter van Holst? (Please update your question tags with your OS type and device type; Jolla1, Intex, JollaC, etc).
Spam Hunter ( 2016-11-01 09:58:12 +0300 )editThe current device is an Intex, running Sailfish OS 2.0, build 2.0.2.51. The old device (where the data was migrated from) is a Jolla1, also running Sailfish OS 2.0 (older build, don't have it with me now).
Walter van Holst ( 2016-11-01 10:26:25 +0300 )editOut of curiosity, have you tried creating a new contact (with accent/s) and then searching for it?
