On the N9 I could upload photos taken with my phone to flickr. I used this feature a lot, and I miss it on my Jolla. Is it possible to get this in with the other photo sharing options like it was on the N9?

I would also like to have such option. Also a small flickr client would be nice which I could use to download some of my (or others) flickr pics to my jolla e.g. to use as ambience background, but that would be a totally separated request :)

@matrixx feel free to post such a feature-request as a new question .. unless it hasn't been asked already.. ;)

@jjaone I don't want to clutter Together with app request. I hope sailors will focus on the OS itself and its integrated features like flickr upload would be. Though it would be nice idea to Together have a separate section for app requests. Would also help developers know which apps could success.

@matrixx This is exactly the.right place to make feature and app requests.. how else will devs / sailors know what ppl need and require..

@jjaone just found out there already is a request about flickr support in gallery: https://together.jolla.com/question/11104/flickr-integration/ That would do as well. As facebook photos can already be browsed in gallery, why not flickr photos as well, vote given :)

Excellent @marco73f! Will you push it to the Store, too?

Here's a Flickr group to test your app: https://www.flickr.com/groups/2661221@N20/

For now the best workaround would be to setup an email account on your Jolla (if you haven't already) for uploading pictures to Flickr using the email method.

https://www.flickr.com/account/uploadbyemail/

After the debacle of the inexplicable absence of "upload to Flickr" in Nokia's flagship camera phone N8, we had to find new ways and this has proven the most clean one (better than sending your Flickr credentials through 3rd party servers like Pixelpipe) Just tested it on the N8 - sorry Jolla out for repair -to make sure it still works and yes, I could upload 9 Nokia N8 fine res pictures simultaneously via a Yahoo mail account to Flickr. Regarding privacy of sending your pics through yet another email server: Yahoo is Flickr is Yahoo so I guess there is no issue here.

Yes, I have tried this, and it does work, even though it's not an optimal solution. There are separate email-addresses for different privacy-settings, and you can't have the picture automatically put in an album. So yes it works, but I'd still like a proper upload-function ;)

Fully agree - just checking my beautiful Nokia (R.I.P.) 808's gallery upload function: it only allows adding title and comment to the picture before uploading. So it really depends on the love of the OS programmers for Flickr how this feature is being implemented. A 3rd party tool like FlickrUp from a SailfishOS aware programmer is best future option when full option mobile upload is needed. http://theshowstopper.in/flickrup -> see he mentions Sailfish OS as possible platform, I have written him to encourage him!

I only have the Flickr upload function on my Nokia N9 to compare to, which had lots of options and worked really great. Getting that FlicrUp app would indeed be great :)

Flickr provide you with an email address for your account. the syntax for the account is for example idfromflickr@photos.flickr.com.

I have used this method from quite a few different devices and it works well. Haven't tried my Jolla as yet so I'll give it a go and report back.

You just answered the exact same thing as vandersmash. See my reply to that.
