Do apps relying on google maps work with microg? If yes, how to install?

Hello Sailors,
well, got nothing else to say :-). does it work somehow? For example: I want to use drivenow, whicht depends on google maps, but i don't want to use google service itself and want to use microg.

P.S. Google Play is no option - obviously
Note: on XA2 and with microG installed, the app work, but I get no location in them.
