I would love to hear your experiences, in case it ever becomes available for the rest of us. It would be great if we finally got a higher end option for a sailfish device :)
UPDATE: TRI seems to be alive and well. They will release info about a second generation device on the 1st of January (info from an email that TRI sent out, copy beneath)

Unfortunately my turing phone had a faulty sim slot and would not read any sim cards. Three weeks on and turing have still not replied to my emails or posts on their reddit "support" forum. Many other users are reporting similar problems. (along with many other faults like dead units, faulty screens and bits of the casing falling off).
The phone itself feels very solid and well built. The larger screen is very nice, makes typing on the keyboard much more accurate and the faster processor makes opening apps very quick. The speaker is also much louder. The phone does not support exhange activesync as turing didnt pay for the license yet.
Battery life is horrible with wifi enabled. Almost 10% drain per hour. With it disabled (and no active sim) it holds battery quite well.
Managed to install play store and most apps work well and performance is quite good.
At the end of the day, the phone has potential, but support is abysmal. I personally doubt the upgraded model will ever see the light of day based on the lack of any response from turing.

Ditto the spontaneous soft reboots of the user interface layer. In addition, a hanging android app seems to bring the whole android system down (should be sandboxed).

Good:
heavy built with frame twist, bend and scratch proof
i love the display which has pretty high pixel density and will blind you if turned all the way up
charges relatively quickly
non Android or iPhone physical design is very refreshing
reasonable speed and response time
Bad:
Eval unit has some hardware issues, display digitizer and compass
Turing UI not yet functional or user friendly
App launch times for Android apps too slow for my liking
Slow camera and poor overall performance (quality image and processing speed, image editing functions, UI navigation for camera settings)
battery runtime unpredicable depending on processes running and it doesnt have a throttle mode when its not plugged in over night when not in use (should conserve battery and pause non-essential processes automatically based on sleep settings)
sailfish browser screen rotation website load and render super slow
@fstrahlm i was a iphone user for 6years so its tough to downgrade but i expect a functioning quality camera too amd its the hardware/software integration that creates the quality. i hope Jolla will spend a little love on the software side to improve performance, features, and maybe even quality (hdr is only a small aspect and shouldnt even be included until they cant figure out the basic problems)

You guys seem to have very different battery runtimes. Do you often lose wifi or do you have really heavy apps in the background? Battery life in particular interests me since I'm used to my aqua fish easily lasting me three days without charging
Some apps are processor intense which seems to kill the battery:
SFOS apps streaming music over bluetooth, Android apps performing file system changes (music formatting meta tagging)
Android apps running virus scan file operations open and scan and close files.
Random Android apps are sucking huge battery power when background notifications on boot is turned on (again depends totally on app, TRI connect, MyMail etc).
I mostly stream music so using offline cutespot music to bluetooth takes:
45% CPU one core 28MB memory
just to run that basic function. i would consider that not an intensive task but the Turing phone certainly has to labour for it.

Under the bluetooth streaming scenario (my most common phone use case) and spotify offline and online, SFOS and Android i am getting the same efficiency: about 14% battery per hour consumption.
As you can see regular browsing, checking emails and messages, screen almost always on but turned down, GPS on, Wifi off, mobile data On, bluetooth on.
In my case 1,5 hour music listening via bluetooth on Cutespot drops battery about 7% (80% to 73%). Wifi off, GPS on, bluetooth on, open apps: People, Meecast, Calendar and Gallery. 3 email accounts (sync intervall 5min), other accounts: Dropbox, OneDrive, Facebook, Twitter and Memotoo. Backgroud tasks: Facebook (Android), Messenger (Android) and Situations.
