After converting my new Aquafish to Jolla C software and applying the 2.0.5.6 update, I configured my Exchange account. While email and contacts are synchronized correctly, calendar items don't get synchronized to the phone. The other direction seems to work, items created on phone are synched to the mailbox.

In the Exchange synch logs there is a large number of calendar items visible, so it seems they are actually transferred to the phone, but not imported into the calendar database. I was not able to find some meaningful logfile information of the synch process on the phone so far. I tried to remove and re-create the Exchange account on the phone several times, but no success. Also deleting and re-installing Jolla Calendar and Exchange Support did not help.

The same Exchange mailbox syncs fine with my Jolla 1 (2.0.5.6, too).

Unfortunately it's not a bug but a phone specific licensing issue. That's why it works on Jolla 1 but not JC/Aqua fish.

Here's more on the topic https://together.jolla.com/question/141246/unable-to-find-the-microsoft-exchange-app-in-the-jolla-store/

Exchange is licensed to be used on both Jolla C and Aqua Fish. It is available in the Jolla store, I installed and configured it successfully several times. EAS does sync emails, contacts, and calendar items (from phone to server). The only part that's not working is synching calendar items from the server to the phone.

Did you actually read my question? The topic you linked to is about the Turing phone (which has indeed no EAS license).

Thanks to chris.adams' first comment in this thread I was able to create some helpful logging information.

The reason for the EAS plugin to completely cancel synchonization were a few recurring calendar entries that couldn't be handled somehow:

Dec 02 17:17:59 Sailfish sailfish-eas[6925]: [EAS] [6925]: 02 Dec 2016 17:17:59 +0100  CalendarStorageImpl::handleAddedCalendarItems, 1820: Failed adding calendar item: CalendarItem{id:0,serverId:"7:26",locId:"95fac7e2-a2c8-44cd-960b-fc51eb61e1e3",timezone:"xP///ygARwBNAFQAKwAwADEAOgAwADAAKQAgAEIAZQBsAGcAcgBhAGQAZQAsACAAQgByAGEAdABpAHMAbABhAHYAYQAAAAoAAAAFAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAACgARwBNAFQAKwAwADEAOgAwADAAKQAgAEIAZQBsAGcAcgBhAGQAZQAsACAAQgByAGEAdABpAHMAbABhAHYAYQAAAAMAAAAFAAIAAAAAAAAAxP///w==",allDay:1,body:Body{type:1,trancated:false,data:"",part:0,smart:false},busyStatus:0,dtStamp:"20130823T080827Z",time:{"19800502T220000Z"..."19800503T220000Z"},remind:-1,sens:0,subj:"XXXXX",mstatus:0,exceptCount:1,rspReq:EasItemsCommon::TTrue,rspType:0,noNewTime:false,nativeBodyType:EasItemsCommon::PlainTextNativeBodyType}

After deleting these (unneeded) items, Exchange synchronization worked fine.

BTW: the "old" EAS plugin was able to handle these items as they have been synchronized to my Jolla 1.

Hi, I'm having trouble parsing the precise cause of the problem, from this TJC thread. Can you please email me the important excerpts from the sync log (e.g., an event which "succeeded" and an event which "failed" so that I can see the difference and try to determine what the problematic code might be)? My email is chris dot adams at jolla dot com - thanks!

Ok, I will try to set up a test case and collect some logfiles. Since I deleted the calendar items, it will be difficult to investigate what the problem was.

The logfile entry above is related to such a calendar item, it was a birthday of a relative (starting 1980, recurring yearly). This particular item synchronized successfully between Exchange and Evolution (EWS), Outlook, MS Mail, Symbian with Mail for Exchange, and my Jolla 1. But not Aqua Fish / Jolla C.

So I am wondering about the difference between Jolla 1 and Jolla C, regarding Exchange support. There's a slight difference in the version number.
