I just came back from lunch, and when I took the phone out of my pocket it said "Permanently Locked" - but I haven't done anything to lock the phone! What is going on here? How can I get my phone back? Help! :(

Edit: I can still SSH in, if that's any help?

Edit: I was able to fix this by SSH-ing in and editing devicelock_settings.conf, changing maximum_attempts=9 to maximum_attempts=-1 and rebooting:

devel-su
vi /usr/share/lipstick/devicelock/devicelock_settings.conf
reboot

edit retag flag offensive reopen delete

I'm sorry, but data loss is not acceptable! Nor do I have lots of time to spend on this...

The linked solution should not involve any data loss. Regarding the time it takes to solve your problem, I guess that's the cost for using security implementations. They wouldn't work if it would be possible to circumvent them without any effort.

And while I appreciate the phone locking after repeated failed unlock attempts, I NEVER MADE ANY FAILED ATTEMPTS! I would consider it to be a bug that the phone can do this all on its own!

Did you previously had the problem that your phone woke up when carrying it in your pocket? It's a known problem, at least with the Aqua Fish / Jolla C which could have caused the permanent lock by "entering" wrong PINs.
