I am keen to install node.js onto my jolla tablet so I can do some basic js coding on the move. I have very little knowledge of linux and have found this page

that explains installing node onto various distros.

Can anyone give me a hint as to what to do to achieve this on Sailfish?

You can find node.js package in openrepos and it's dedicated for SailfishOS.

The easiest way to install it is through Warehouse

It looks to me like warehouse does not have a package for the tablet

I forgot that tablet has different architecture. So you have two options.

  1. You can compile Node.js by yourself, here you have tutorial

  2. Write to Rikudou_Sennin and ask him to build package for tablet.

I ended up using the android app "Termux". I can then install node to android from there. Not ideal, but works for now
