Hi!

I've got certain album names double; e.g. vinyl vs. CD, or more importantly: Within Temptation -- Frozen and Delain -- Frozen (two different bands, with the same album name).

In both cases, their music brainz ID is in the metadata, and in the second case, the Artist is different.

In both cases, the albums get mixed up when going from Artists->[an artist]->[an album]. It shows both albums, sorted on track number.

Example of different artists-same album name: Different artists, same album name

Example of same artist, same album name, but different releases (I select Artists->Delain->Frozen): Same artist, same album name, vinyl and CD mixed up

I think this can be solved by preferring selecting an album based on a disc id; I have my albums tagged with a musicbrainz release-id.

Partially selecting an album based on an the artist is not the way to go, because compilations (different artists, same album) will not work anymore that way.

I did refresh the media database, but that's probably not the problem. The problem lies in the way that mediaplayer groups albums; not that mediaplayer doesn't find tracks.
Running newest version on Jolla 1, which is 2.0.5.6 here.
Files are opus, which is basically an ogg container with another codec. They play perfectly.

I have the same issue. Very annoying.

1.Did you tried to refresh database of multimedia by Sailfish Utilities app?

2.What version of Sailfish do you use?

3.What are the filetypes of those tracks?

Shouldn't this be a comment on my question? Anyhow:
1. Yes, but that's not exactly the problem. The problem lies in the way that mediaplayer groups albums; not that mediaplayer doesn't find tracks.
2. Newest version on Jolla 1, which is 2.0.5.6 here.
3. Opus, which is basically an ogg container with another codec. They play perfectly.

EDIT: I added this information in my post.

So it's problem with tracker, probably.

@andy-branson can you help with this?

Still the same on SFOS 2.1. Someone care to point me at the right code base, if open source? I'd love to patch it, this is really annoying to me.
