I don't know if someone is following the development of Ubuntu Touch. It's now frozen for some time due focusing again on the desktop Ubuntu and Unity8 ... With the next update for Ubuntu Touch they will move from click packages to snaps and therefore all the current devices will be left in the rain as snaps need a newer Android kernel which is not available vor BQ 5 and 4.5 and Meizu 4 (the only devices originally sold with Ubuntu) So there will be a demand for a new OS for this devices and a bunch of users used to Linux and a button free OS - Jolla (or the community) should immediately get in touch with BQ who proved to have a heart for niche users ;-)

I already sent BQ a mail, asking if they will try to add support for Sailfish OS. Still waiting for a reply though. IMHO BQ would be a perfect hardware partner for SFOS devices. Like you said they do have a heart for niche users (maybe a Nokia E7 styled one for the physical keyboard lovers? :P)
