Will jolla/sfos or partners release any phones to the european market anytime soon?
After losing my Jolla a while back, I've been keeping an eye out for new releases of sfos in the European market (with updated android VM support), but except the Turing phone and a few maybes, it seems as if Jolla is leaving the European market aside, instead looking towards the Russian/Indian market (which seems like an OK idea). Does anyone know if sfos will be bought to the european market again?
I gave up on waiting... Fairphone has no plans for releasing an official version. bought a bq Aquaris x5 with Cyanogen OS. nice Phone but its not sailfish... :-(

cemoi71 ( 2017-01-27 15:52:18 +0300 )editAlthough I have the Jolla C and the Intex Aqua Fish, I'd love to see a new device on the european market. Or even better worldwide.
Trying to convince people of SailfishOS is not of much use when there is no device available where it runs on.
Venty ( 2017-01-27 16:59:54 +0300 )editNo, real partner device in Europe or US any time soon. Might be some lowend, low quantity device like a community development device.
Jolla collecting money to push the rest of the refund soon. Instead, I hope.
Dave999 ( 2017-01-27 21:43:09 +0300 )editWould be wonderful, if jolla could improve theire communication skills. Nearly every month a question like this pops up. And it ends in maybes and hoping ;-)
For me it seems like the community should act more as community through ports, because many waitng since jolla c for better HW and nothing happened so far. Also the coming russian phones seem to be low end HW an will be most likely similar to jolla c.

coderus ( 2017-01-28 00:43:50 +0300 )editAs time has passed, our "First One"'s are getting older, wear & tear are kicking in, battery capacity is failing, etc. So answer to the question of this thread is probably important to many of us.
I'm personally happy with the current state of Sailfish and its gradual improvements, so buying a new phone where Sailfish OS is officially supported would be an easy decision. In that case any feedback of possible new hardware that works fine in Europe would be highly appreciated.
jemm ( 2017-01-29 23:31:24 +0300 )editSuggestion for this, would be to approach BQ, an European smartphone constructor.
Furthermore they have some devices which have the Galileo dedicated chip...
Spanish firm direct near of the mwc too...
They seems to have nice devices:

Prices are corrects i think.
If they may have sailfish on their phones, then i would buy one for sure.
cemoi71 ( 2017-01-30 11:08:47 +0300 )editWhat do you think about it?
As I can see it, Jolla does not give a shit about it's European fans/potential customers! :/
I'm not talking about Turing Phone here because i'm not interested in mobile mythology!
