Hello! I'm often using jolla to listen to long talks or presentations in mp3 format. I would like to to be able to mark where I have stoped and continue from the same location some hours later, after listening to another mp3 file. For this application it would be also great to be able to rewind file back by about 10 seconds.

Because this is very unlikely to appear in the stock media player, let me shamelessly plug an audio book player I've written that may help you there. While it does not rewind automatically, it stores your previous progress. You can open directories or single files.

If you decide to try it, please tell me if it works for you (here or on TMO).

I think gpodder saves your progress, as well, but I don't know if it's possible to just open files that are not podcasts. I can't think of other players doing this [edit: see other answer from @leszek for alternative].

You can download my video player (LLs Video Player) which supports such features. It allows to "Play from last known position" for videos and music files and offers ffwd and rew buttons. https://openrepos.net/content/llelectronics/lls-video-player

Instead of pointing everywhere, how about pointing to the initial request. I am sure the OP is aware that there might be an alternative player. https://together.jolla.com/question/6552/media-player-should-resume-playing-a-music-from-the-moment-where-i-stopped-listen-it-last-time/
