Bug: gallery asking for internet connection

How to put this, it is nice to have facebook pictures downloaded to the device in background when the gallery-app is active but on the other hand it is annoying to not being able to stay offline without being bothered by an internet connectivity request every few seconds. Add an offline mode to a yet to come pulley menu or if you have another idea to implement share it with us please.
There are settings missing as well, I do not want to update online picture-repositories when I am on mobile data - a low traffic profile is welcome on any data-plan.
