Dear community,

I have the problem of Android Apps (in my case "Conversations" on an Aquafish) losing the data connection. As mentioned in this thread by groxxorg (https://together.jolla.com/question/122636/bug-android-messaging-whatsapp-messages-arrive-late) I have deleted and then reinstalled Android support. For now my problem seems fixed but for how long?

Is there something in the Android support that gets broken after a time of usage and can only be fixed by a reinstall. If that's the case it seems to be a bug and Anroid Support needs some kind of cleanup function.

I hope this helps finding the problem because there seem to be more people having this problem.

Thanx for your work and your help and for SFOS to be an alternative.

PS.: I will write again in this thread if this problem is starting to occur again.

@misc11 please write a wiki question "how-to use \"how-to\" tag in TJC" :)

@coderus if there was a way to make it stick to the top, i would. together with "no theres no VoLTE support yet" ;)

A little update!

Reinstall of Android Supp. just worked about half a day, now it's back to "normal" (connection is interupted).

I now try a different way. I now use PingYou from OpenRepos for my Convers. account. One can receive Convers. messages with the native Messages-app with PingYou. I use the possibility to activate "Keepalive Interval" in the account settings (value 5 - I don't know if that means 5 minutes?. For now the connection seems to be stable from within Conv.. Well, I now I get the messages twice (Conv. and Messages-app) but that's okay for me. Messages-app allone lacks the possibility to send pictures et al., so I don't discard Convers..

But if you don't need that kind of feature maybe PingYou is enough (Remember PingYou is in the early stages of developement - I hope it still is in developement)

I will keep you informed if my workaround works more than half a day.

Greetings from Austria, broncheolus.

Update (14.03.17): After about 2 days of using this workaround I can say that it still works and my Aquafish stayes online. Just to mention, on my Jolla1 this workaround is not needed, it works as it is. (Just to think about: Is it possible that these disconnections happen not from within Android support but directely from within SFOS?)
