Hello, i played a bit around but I could not figure out how I can navigate with the maps of the Server using Poor Maps or modRana. I downloaded a Map successfully and using OSM Scout I can use this map offline. But with Poor Maps or modRana it does not work.

Thanks yajo

To use the OSM Scout Server map layers in modRana:

  1. start osm scout server, do not close it
  2. then start modRana
  3. in main menu -> Maps -> Main map
  4. select the OSM Scout Server layer group and then either the OSM Scout Day or OSM Scout Night layer

To use OSM Scout Server routing (the OSM Scout Server "app" should still be running):

  1. in modRana go to main menu -> Option -> Navigation
  2. select OSM Scout Server - on device as routing provider

To use OSM Scout Server for place & local search (the OSM Scout Server "app" should still be running):

  1. in modRana go to main menu -> Options -> POI
  2. for Place search select OSM Scout Server (on device)
  3. for Local search select OSM Scout Server (on device)

Thanks, but I did these things already. And navigation and Searching for places now work for me. But on the map I just can see gray fields and my current location but nothing else.

If you see gray areas, it maybe picked up by modrana/poor maps from cache generated during your earlier runs. Try to remove modRana or Poor Maps caches (it should be in their settings). Each asked map image is shown as a request in OSM Scout Server log as an INFO message with 'tile' URL. Check if these logs are generated while you browse the map.

If logs are there, cache clean, maybe the downloaded map was a wrong region? Or a bug - then please submit bug report to github.

In modRana I did not found any possibility to remove the caches, but for Poor Maps this works ! Thanks a lot :)

@yajo: There is not yet an option for that in the GUI, but the map tile cache is stored in: /home/nemo/.local/share/harbour-modrana/maps So for now you can delete osmscout_server_1 and osmscout_server_2 folders located inside.

But it certainly makes sense to expose this also in the GUI, so I've created a corresponding feature request to track this.
