Why is Jolla still not making a paywall for the app store?

In my opinion, the request for supporting paid apps in Jolla store is quite obviously still not realized. Everybody knows that native app development is never going to get off the ground unless developers can actually sell their apps (without the need to each set up their individual payment channels) - as opposed to asking for donations. What is keeping Jolla from enabling monetization of app development?
Good point. I had to pay for all the half decent N9 apps.
djhowls ( 2017-03-26 18:26:07 +0300 )editI've pondered this for ages too, and don't know the 'official' reasoning behind it, you would think dev's would be more inclined to make app's for a, largely unknown OS IF they stood a chance of getting paid. This in itself would also make the official store look better and contribute towards the OS being a google free zone, which is part of the reason I bought into it. I don't want to have to rely on android app's for anything if I had a choice, but I don't, I'd happily pay for a satnav app', but instead I have to rely on Waze, colornote (which syncs) is another I'd buy, android app's defeat the object and don't look great IMO - however ........ until we have decent hardware all this and more is meaningless, I'll 'put up' with my ageing Jolla 1 until Sony fill my needs, THEN I will want to fill it with decent app's, and I REALLY would like NOT to have to install AD, but I fear I might not have a choice in that, just yet ..........
