Hello again!

An immense thanks to all who translated last week, your work is invaluable!!

Haven't we got new UI strings to translate? Yes we have! As you know requirements change, and we would like to implement them still for the 2.1.1, so we need your linguistic skills to help!

Delve into https://translate.sailfishos.org (good idea to then choose "Getting Started" link), click on your desired language, sort by the ”Need Translation" column, click on a non-zero count, and voilà!

It's only a dozen of new strings, and we'd kindly ask you to complete by the end of this week.

The following languages are still incomplete from last week...: Chinese (China and Hong Kong), Danish, Finnish, French, Russian; let's roll-up those sleeves ^-^

Many thanks!
Sim

Dutch = done. Ping @martonmiklos, you can update the Dutch translation pack if you have some time!

Can you please explain:

Context: settings_network-la-vpn_pppd_echo_failure
Locations: ../vpn/advanced/PPPD.qml:215

Fail after missed count

This string appears in Settings-VPN-PPPD-Echo section and it means the count of missed echo requests to declare a connection failure

Thanks! ...

It's still not easy to translate to me. Is there a configurable number just after?

A screenshot or more context would help for all those VPN stuff.

Yes, it is an input field for a numeric value. The more concise description is (source here):

lcp-echo-failure n
If this option is given, pppd will presume the peer to be dead if n LCP echo-requests are sent without receiving a valid LCP echo-reply. If this happens, pppd will terminate the connection. Use of this option requires a non-zero value for the lcp-echo-interval parameter. This option can be used to enable pppd to terminate after the physical connection has been broken (e.g., the modem has hung up) in situations where no hardware modem control lines are available.

To be more precise, this option appears here in the Sailfish OS UI: Settings->VPN->(Add L2TP or PPTP)->Advanced->PPP->(scroll down for)->Echo

@sledges I guess you are one or two OS versions before us. I'm on 2.1.0.10 and there is no such thing as L2TP/PPTP. ;)

A good idea would be showing adequate links to bring us to the place where we may contribute.

Could the corrections I pointed here be done for the upcoming release. Many thanks!

Yes, they all will be addressed. The aim for every language is indeed to get its all suggestions sorted out (accepted/rejected/discussed) before taking into new release; thanks for creating that TJC question.

My pleasure! I really really hope it will be fixed, it doesn't look serious =/

Somewhat disappointed. I've submitted several corrections of misspelled strings in the French project, long time ago. Most mistakes are still there in 2.1.0.11 Iijoki. Why should I keep contributing?

As @sledges mentioned in his introduction, this round of translation is for version 2.1.1.x not yet released. You can check that your (valuable) corrections have been accepted as official translations at translate.sailfishos.org meaning that they will be used in 2.1.1.x but as far as I know, Jolla is not porting translation corrections done for release N into release N-1. So your corrections will be available for everyone with the next release only.
