Hi,

I'm using a Jolla1 and I'd like to know the minimum free space requirements (in MiB or filesystem free percentile) for the btrfs-balance to be able to run ?

It is not just about the free data space as the notification about no space left can also mean that space reserved for metadata is full. Please check the following webpage for further details on this and how to inspect the issue further.

https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Problem_FAQ#I_get_.22No_space_left_on_device.22_errors.2C_but_df_says_I.27ve_got_lots_of_space

As a summary, if you have issue with space, solving that can be done by running the balance with slowly increasing -dusage= value and if that does not help then free up a bit more space and try again.
