Workaround: Send google to hell were it came from and use https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=yalp&fdid=com.github.yeriomin.yalpstore

Same error here. I already tried freeing space (6 GB free now), deleting cache and data from the store and manually updating the store to 7.7.09.

Hi everyone, I'm facing exactly the same issue with an Aqua fish changed to Jolla C. I tried successive older version of the Play store but it doesn't help. Now I'm back at version 7.5.08 which is from February, but still no success. santhoshmanikandan, which version did you roll back to to make it work?

EDIT: refering to: https://together.jolla.com/question/161072/play-store-app-issue-in-intex-aqua-fish/ I rolled back to version 7.3.25 downloaded from http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-7-3-25-release/ and now it works again.

just uninstall play store. As play store is oreloaded it will downgrade the app. you can install the apps for a while untill play store auto updates. You may prevent play store from auto updating and use the old version.

If play store is not preloaded, try version 6.4.13.

Version 7.3.25 works, but quickly updates itself in the background to version 7.7.xx. The steps described there prevent that luckily :).

Installing old version seem to fix it. But within minutes play store gets updated and problem comes again.

Install the old version and uncheck the option of automatic updates in Play Store. That way you can stay in that old version and wait until someone figures out what is the main problem. I know that Aptoide and F-droid are working but they don't have forexample bank apps which I need to use Jolla daily.

Google might be blocking app updates for uncertified devices (see this artice). Anyway, could you add some instructions how to install an older version of play store ?

Question for Experts: Jolla and Intex are working to fix this bug, or is it in the hands of the Community and the Legendary @coderus?

Sailfish devices are not certified. Google is now preventing uncertified devices from Installing/ updating apps from play store.

The only known work around is to downgrade play store and install apps as santhoshmanikandan said above.

Yes, though it is still necessary to follow the steps described in this post otherwise the play store updates itself in the background after a very short time, even though it is configured not to auto-update apps.

Yup, I agree that Google is blocking unauthenticated devices, but why is it with Jolla 1, with Sailfish and Play Store up to date, does it all work regularly?

mercurio ( 2017-05-10 17:01:52 +0300 )edit

can confirm this happend on my jolla c too.

but: my fire HD 8 still gets updates and play store identified this one as uncertified device too.

so it seems that they are pretty selective on which devices to exclude, maybe the similarity to devices on low-cost markets is the trigger here? (to force those makes to pay google's license fees after the devices are sold, because of angry users?)

May be google is tracking the device id.
