Twitter feed not refreshing [2.1.0.11]

With only Wifi enabled and going out of the reach of it so no internet connection after a couple of minutes reestablishing the connection does not refresh the twitter feed anymore. The little twitter icon shows the refresh symbol and after a couple of seconds the little progresscircle disappears though the tweets aren't updated. I still see tweets from two days ago though many more new tweets should've arrived.
No error message is shown.
Found a way to refresh it without rebooting. Disable the twitter account and displaying of twitter feeds alltogether. Then activate it again and hit synchronize in account settings.
