now that ubuntu dropped unity, convergence and ubuntu 'personal', which meant to be the successor of ubuntu for tablets / phones, I am stuck with android on this device. I wonder if there is a chance to have sailfishos on it... or something else.

Any ideas?

I think this simple rule is true: If on a device was/is Android OS then that device can run with Sailfish OS (ported or official). Will it happen is only the question of will and activities of interested in persons and sides like in this case bq.com. BTW bq is very professional and open towards clients, so I would request also directly bq. Open minded ppl there can do that IMHO. The argument could be, among others, that when Intex is planning selling of AquaFish in Spain then why not to try with Sailfish bq also?

I can't see someone like BQ wanting to get involved with another niche OS so soon after this ubuntu debacle, they certainly won't be putting out any SFOS tablets just 'cos a few people ask lol...... just get used to having android on your tablet, 'cos the situation's not likely to change any year soon, look forward to getting some decent Sony hardware and forget tablets, until the OS is proven on phones it won't happen.
