Browser 'don't save' login data

Hello!
I really wonder for two years now, why the browser asks after entering login data wether to 'cancel' or 'save' the credentials. The word 'cancel' means (at least for me) to stop the actual processing and not to login at all. The usual wording would be 'don't save' and 'save'.
Am I alone?
