It occurs nearly every 8 minutes when I'm using an android or native app in LTE mode. no problem while in standby and no problem in 2G, 3G or Wifi. I use Jio 4G in sim slot 2. please help me identify what is happening. i don't know the use of the terminal, hence need someone to tell me the exact steps. occurring since 3 days. before that, everything was normal except the alien-dalvik crashes that i've mentioned earlier here - https://together.jolla.com/question/154086/alien-dalvik-restarts-when-mobile-data-connection-crashes-in-lte-mode-no-problem-in-2g-or-3g/

Update 22-07-17 After many testing It is Concluded that Unexpected reboots are Only Experienced when: 1.) Both Sim Slots have SIM cards AND 2.) One of them is 4G lte supported

It seems their is bug in dual Sim handling which crashes os (makes it boot again) when one of the sim is 4G lte supported.

i am facing the same issue my friend. use jio internet and phone reboots in a while. i only use native apps and i get a random reboot with no time frame . i guess sailfish isn't 4g friendly after all. i deleted my question which was almost same. thanx rajuaa00.

I have no rational explanation for this but try to change used slot, move SIM card(s) to another slot(s). It will not give you neither VOLTE nor better LTE support but may make reboots less severe, more seldom - if you will have luck, or simply not. My guess is Jolla is waiting for the LTE & VOLTE standard to be more established globally-internationally as now it differs from operator to operator and jio's is one of less friendly for current Sailfish implementation (or vice versa so to say). Jio is cheap, the cheapest, but that makes side effects like not investing in their infrastructure and software unless absolutely needed. It also implies also from fact that e.g. VOLTE requires experimental finding of values of some hundreds (100s) of parameters which are to be set in existing operator's infrastructure. That is process consuming manpower, and also requires to complete individual software for every particular mobile model, what is not easy in Jolla's situation. So we all are waiting for VOLTE and better LTE. However note in some countries LTE works without problems.

i have thoroughly tested this, if u use another jio sim you get the same reboots. no reboots on other sims whatsoever. jio never worked in sim slot 1 before Iijoki but still u cannot use internet on jio in sim slot 1

hardy_magnus ( 2017-05-14 08:54:15 +0300 )edit

never happened before Iijoki, there's something wrong in the coding.

Jio works fine in both sim slots. I want jolla to make the software more friendly with 4G LTE.

+1 (me too) +VOLTE also :/ I think now they focused on Sony so I incompetently predict it will take Jolla an unknown time. Not fun. :(

@hardy_magnus there is a manufacturing Error in some aqua fishes reported by @pinkpanther on this site, On my Phone also Jio sim working in both slots(one at a time).

p_pahare ( 2017-05-17 18:59:48 +0300 )edit

no manufacturing error in my phone. because after using my mobile for almost 3 months, the reboot problem arised all of a sudden !!

Rajuaa00 ( 2017-05-18 10:56:10 +0300 )edit

@Rajuaa00 sir, on my phone , the reboots occurs randomly only when i am at home and using Jio4G never happened when i use 4G at other locations in the same city. Which shows that here also problem is with 4G module of the phone.

p_pahare ( 2017-05-18 14:02:40 +0300 )edit

reboots never occurred before Iijoki update. the last option is to factory reset , enable developer mode and stick to 2.0.5.6 release. @p_pahare : i don't think there is a hardware problem in our devices. i will switch to 2.0.5.6 and will tell you the results soon.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-05-18 21:57:59 +0300 )edit

switched to 2.0.5.6 via developer mode and there are reboots. downgrading didn't solve the problem. we should wait for some announcement from j*lla side. oh man i have to install everything again.

i started facing this issue since haapajoki 2.0.5.6 but even after factory reset the problem survived.

i wonder why did not I get any answer on both of my important questions... feeling completely frustrated and cheated. sorry gyus, it is true.

Rajuaa00 ( 2017-05-29 03:56:10 +0300 )edit

@Rajuaa00: same here, feeling cheated but not frustrated. टेंशन नहीं लेने का भेजा गर्म हो जाता है । but if intex is supposed to provide stable updates then why is this happening in the first place? but guys we have to wait for the next update.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-05-29 08:02:43 +0300 )edit

updated to 2.1.1.12 via terminal but I'm still facing reboots, dam* you j#££@.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-06-19 18:42:22 +0300 )edit

have been using fish with just jio sim (using single sim ) and there are no reboots. but again i am using just a single sim not dual. moved to nokia n900 for now but will be switching to android as soon as i get some money.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-07-18 19:50:04 +0300 )edit

thanks @hardy_magnus , I am also testing to get rid of reboots but didnt click that Idea , Few days I' ll use your trick and then will report on issue. BTW I switched to Sfos after android ( I felt its every app is a bunch of bloatwares and adwares )

p_pahare ( 2017-07-18 20:26:22 +0300 )edit

@p_pahare: if u have an android device make sure its rooted, use system app remover, remove all unwanted bloat, use only f-droid store for open source apps. thats my mantra for making android a perfect usuable Os.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-07-19 07:50:07 +0300 )edit

Yes I rooted and removed Bloatwares but Most of the Playstore apps are having Bloats and Ads.Frequently My Notification Panel was full of Advertisements and Some Useful apps were Behind them. then I shifted to JavaPlatformed Feature phone while waiting for aqua fish Launch.

p_pahare ( 2017-07-19 09:01:16 +0300 )edit

@p_pahare: you should remove playstore and everything that says google. use other alternatives like we have f-droid and 1 mobile store to playstore, new pipe to youtube etc.

hardy_magnus ( 2017-07-19 13:34:10 +0300 )edit

Noted bro, Now after your investigation of reboots ( mine too ) .The result is that reboots Occurs only When There are two SIM in Aqua Fish And one of them is '4G LTE' sim . Ps: I am using Rcom 4G to get my calls as well as enjoying 4G data and left another SIM slot empty.

p_pahare ( 2017-07-19 14:06:11 +0300 )edit

@Rajuaa00: please add [bug] [intex aqua fish] 4g only(sim1 or 2) +any network(sim1 or 2)=random reboots to the title of the thread. it will bring more attention here. add this detail that using single sim (4g only or any network ) in the device gives no problem . thank you

hardy_magnus ( 2017-07-21 14:37:44 +0300 )edit

If I remove a SIM but continue to use 4G by having only one SIM in my phone, then will it solve the problem?

Rajuaa00 ( 2017-07-24 12:12:34 +0300 )edit
1

yes , It was tested by @hardy_magnus , and i also confirmed it on my aqua fish, I also didnt experienced alien dalvik crashes but not sure about it

p_pahare ( 2017-07-24 12:38:16 +0300 )edit

as we can't call or message using Jio sim in Aqua Fish, if I remove my second sim card, it will make my mobile almost useless. :(

Rajuaa00 ( 2017-07-25 17:21:08 +0300 )edit

i agree with @p_pahare that if i use two sims simultaneously and one of them is using LTE mode, then the unexpected restarts happen continuosly but if i use only one sim, then the problem vanishes. i'd like Jolla to fing a solution for this.

Rajuaa00 ( 2017-10-20 02:53:44 +0300 )edit

network thing is broken in jolla especially when it comes to 4g. i am using unlimited 3g/4g in my aqua fish. sometimes my phone switches from 3g to 4g but when 4g is not available the phone does not switch back to 3g or 2g and there is no network then i have to reboot. now i prefer 3g instead of 4g. wtf.
