I frequently record tracks with OsmAnd 2.4.6 on my Jolla C. After upgrade to 2.1.0.11 I have noticed that OsmAnd can no longer get GPS fix. OsmAnd records coarse track, track precision indicates that only cell towers and Wi-Fi hotspots are used to determine location.

My workaround: I've also noticed that while there is running native SFOS app polling GPS coords (I use GPSInfo) OsmAnd is able to get precise geo location.

GPS is utterly unreliable on AlienDalvik, I noticed that too on my AquaFish. I often find myself having to restart Google Maps a few times (HERE somehow does even worse job at locating me) so it could get a GPS fix. It's more like, it won't work unless GPS was enabled and working before the app was opened. Upvoting.

Same here with viewranger (android geocaching app): started GPS and had fix (checked in native hud app). Cycled for two hour, but Viewranger didn't record any gps location, so no track (it used to work before)

IMO this issue is way older than SFOS 2.1.0: I learned the trick with starting a native, GPS using app first (GPSinfo is perfect for that) in order to get a GPS fix a lot more reliably (and quicker), before starting OSMand~, while using SFOS 1.1.9 or 2.0.0.

For me this issue appeared back when they added those new options to the System settings of GPS (2.0.4 or something like that), but for me opening HERE Maps for few seconds when opening other Android-apps has helped.
