Advertisers are using new tools to map users and ultrasonic beacons seems to be one of them.

Maybe we need a tool to detect that type of material?

A possible alternative would be to add a filter that removes ultrasonic content.

Ultrasonic tracking can be used to deanonymize users of Tor.

it is not exactly ultrasonic, at least according to my read. it said between 18 and 18000 hz. that is not ultrasonic. but the pulses might be.so short or whatever that they are not hearable

From the linked pdf document:

Recently, several companies have started to explore new ways to track user habits and activities with ultrasonic beacons. In particular, they embed these beacons in the ultrasonic frequency range between 18 and 20 kHz of audio content and detect them with regular mobile applications using the device’s microphone.

I would like to know if the strange sounds emitted from the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are the results of malfunctioning hardware.

why not an app which is able to close the permissions of the access to the sound interface for each app independently?
I think this theme was already related, no especially for the sound interface, but generally...
I just ask me why, in each dedicated android app option, there is only the option for the permission, to the contacts access. Is a little bit light for me....
