What went wrong with my Jolla phone after the Iijoki update
- After the updating process the phone started up again and, after flickering a bit, only showed a blank, white screen while being completely unresponsive. The only solution: factory reset causing me to lose, well, pretty much everything. So, after the reset I performed all the updates again (now Iijoki did it), installed most of my apps etc. and started with a 'brand new' phone. BUT...
- I don't get notifications anymore for text messages, at all. Phonecalls do trigger the ringtone, but missed phonecalls also don't give any notification.
- I can't download any attachments to emails
- The camera app doesn't save any photo at all and becomes unresponsive after the first 'click'. Nothing wrong with the actual camera though, cause it does work fine on all Android apps and now I use 'Open Camera' (which is way slower on Sailfish, but actually quite a nice experience. I can recommend it as inspiration for improvement of the native camera app)
- Some Android apps don't close, but only minimize by top-bottom swipe (fast closing)
instead of factory reset try recovery (telnet to 10.42.66) and share how the phone works. recovery works in the jphone right?
hardy_magnus ( 2017-05-16 18:40:17 +0300 )editfeature-request tag???!
cemoi71 ( 2017-05-16 22:35:09 +0300 )edit@ hardy_magnus: yea, tried recovery first. it stayed the same with a blank white screen.
jpelfrene ( 2017-05-17 02:34:25 +0300 )editAnd I still forgot to mention: 6. Can't save new contacts any longer. Now I'm keeping notes with the phone numbers just like in the old days.
The feature request is for a more robust OS update, I guess. I've always been enthousiastic about the small independent phone OS, but now it's just failing at its most basic functionalities.
