vpn forgetting user names and passwords

Just wondering if anybody has come across this issue. I am connected to VPN using my Jolla C device (SF 2.1.0.11) Sometimes it can be connected for days with no issues and reconnecting after a reboot. However other times it disconnects and forgets my user name and password (even though I have asked SF to remember my details) The user ID and password entered are correct and when it decides to remember my details I am indeed accessing the big world via VPN. Connection is created using the inbuilt Open VPN with the .ovpn filed added as provided by my VPN supplier. Any help you can offer would be great. Sean

I use SecureFishNet on the Aquafish.

At SailfishOS Fan Club at Telegram someone asked if anyone knows anything about the VPN and I replied there:

I only know that it sometimes forgets VPN details and demands entering them again, I should report it at TJC. I think it has something to do either with A) not having mobile data at all, B) trying to connect before cable modem connects as the AP starts at the same time or C) captive portals confusing it, bus stop throws two of them.

I think this is the same issue even if you didn't document any ideas what could cause the issue.
