I suggest Jolla to implement API for using default FileManager in apps or at least allow to use imports of FileManager in harbour.

This API will reduce time for the development of apps and the apps will be in "one style".
As example: There is in Java Swing special call FileChooser that provides a GUI for navigating the file system: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/filechooser.html It would be awesome if Jolla implements something like that.

It doesnt really answer your question, but there is a similar thread here, https://together.jolla.com/question/321/file-picker-needed/ with options for adding a file picker.

My answer is a bit different :) Coderus (in your link) suggested to use Sailfish.Filemanager but it is not official use. It is forbidden in harbour. So I want: 1) "plan minimum": allow to use imports for Sailfish.Filemanager; 2)"plan maximum": give API to use Sailfish.Filemanager in more comfortable way

In my app, I used the component by @codeandcreate. It works as a temporary solution until Sailfish.filemanager is a solution.
