Track what uses mobile data connection [duplicate]

Hello.

I noticed, that my mobile provider send me info sms about debiting money from an account for using Internet (on demand access for 24 hours). Problem is that i have disabled mobile data on my device. Operator tell me, that "your telephone used Internet, 1.3 MB". I asked more detailed info about this, but i need visit provider office personally and going to do it this weekend. This Internet usage was happened already three times! And it happened when I'm driving car - i not used my phone that time.

Is there any way to track which app or system uses Internet connection if it is really happening on my Jolla phone?
I use device for some years and have never such problem earlier. Can it be related to latest update - 2.0.0.11 (I installed it a week ago and problem appears almost same time)?

It can be reason. I have "prefer 4G" setting. And it was set after my recent Jolla upgrade. Reverted it back to 3G, as it was earlier. Anyway i can not find what logs should I monitor or pass to Jolla stuff. Any ideas?

I'm afraid that if the mobile internet connection is on, it will be used by several things which are difficult to control. Update checks, clock sync, the weather widget in the notification screen, ...

Recently internet was consumed again with disabled mobile data and with disabled 4G... No one from Jolla team can help? I think it is a bug.

As @rgrnetalk pointed out with the link given, there is a possibility of mobile data usage even though there seems to be no network activated as in no mobile net flag shown in the status icon in the event screen.

If you are familiar to using terminal you could (as devel-su) type ifconfig to show all activated network interfaces. If the output shows a paragraph starting with rmnet_data0 then there is a mobile data connection activated. Don't try that while driving your car! ;) I know this is not a solution but a hint of how I would approach a possible solution by scripting something like this, using grep, sed and likewise.

I will remember about ifconfig check. But I'm sure I will not see any enabled interfaces. My internet service gives access for 24 hours. So, if this happens really often - i should noticed this earlier. I have mobile data disabled all time, except i really need it. I'm not afraid of console or scripting, but what logs to check?
