Hey,

the first inoi R7 are going out in mother Russia. And I'm joyful to order one to Petersburg. But, it seems, following the comments on the resellers website, that there is no android support on the device?

So, didn't they include Alien dalvik? (Maybe because of licensing issues). Did anybody already test this device / has experiences?

Inoi R7 have no Aliendalvik, and there are no plans to include android support for this device.

@coderus: Do you know, whether there are other Android-emulation-possibilities in existens, even if they are not powerful? In my case, Whatsapp and the Outlook-App are the kill switches. And both of my Intexes slowly but surely are going to die. :(

Not for Inoi R7 for sure. Best wishes for coming Sony Xperia X port.

Thanks for the fast reply.

An emulator 4 the fairphone 2 would do the trick too ;). If you know a way for sure there.

And in terms of the Xperia X port, ... i'm kind of sorrow-sticken in general and in doubt, that there will be a dual sim version.

Архитектура системы позволяет запускать каждое приложения в изолированном сегменте и запретить им доступ к важным файлам и документам.

(Google translate)

The system architecture allows you to run each application in an isolated segment and deny them access to important files and documents.

This is such a blatant lie that it's hilarious :-D

They included one of the most desperately needed and requested features, that is absent in Sailfish, in the list of its competitive edges.

I have never used an android phone (or iphone, for that matter) in my life. Symbian, Maemo/MeeGo, Sailfish - that's it. And in the 2.5+ years of daily using the Jolla 1, I never once felt the need to install the aliendalvik layer. In the 1 year with the Jolla C I've never once felt the need to enable it. All you people who say Android support is a must have obviously never even tried to kick that nasty habit. And to use Whatsapp as a reason is laughable. There are many ways of messaging in Sailfish. XMPP, Tox, Telegram... Hell, even group-sms. If your friends don't accept communicating with you by one of these ways, they're not your friends. Get new ones. And get off Android.

I'm glad there is no aliendalvik crap in the Inoi. If the Sony Xperia project is delayed (I'd honestly be more surprised if it wasn't than if it was) I might get the Inoi R7 to replace my Jolla C. Google is the most evil company in the world, and I'll be Android-free until the day I die - come hell or high water.

just remove droid-system-sbj (jolla1) or droid-system-tbj (jollac) and you will be left with unusable phones that won't even boot

You're right - Google is evil, Andorid is bad... But unfortunately, there is no usable navigation software on SailfishOS.

@bocephus: in general, you are right. But sometimes it is necessary to earn money. For this, the most of us had chosen a profession, with which it may occur, that you have to interact. That may include modern telecommunication ways, for which you eventually need special circumstances i.e. special protocols. ;)

(long story short: Atm there is no alternative to exchange and whatsapp.)

There is also picture of clash royale. Inoi R7 without aliendalvik is very expensive phone if compared to Intex.

Some of the pictures on website are incorrect or just pre-rendered mockups.

coderus ( 2017-06-28 21:33:24 +0300 )edit

Jupp, you can read this in the comments too, that the images are mock ups. named is the racing game, shown on the bottom of the page, which is published via yandex store for Android, and that game is definitely not usable on the phone.

@MJolla it's hard to compare. Inoi R7 is device for Russian market. Intex was never sold in Russia officially because it didn't match by radio frequencies.

coderus ( 2017-06-29 09:40:50 +0300 )edit

Okey, maybe I found someone who wants to buy my inoi in finland :) because I use daily couple android softwares. Have to wait Sony comes, but I assume that it should take long time.
