what happened to the jolla shop [answered]

I tried to log in to the jolla shop today to see if they've finally made good on their promise to start selling spare batteries, and instead I failed to even _find_ the jolla shop in the first place! It's just gone! The main website is basically one big company ad right now.

What happened? Where _is_ everything? Do they even sell anything anymore?

(and if so, do they sell spare batteries? :p )

If you would like to buy new battery you can make it on Polish auction website http://allegro.pl/nowa-oryginalna-bateria-jolla-22b50-jp-1301-fv-gw-i6649316614.html They have original batteries (don't know from where). If you need help with buying it I can help you.

Regarding the spare battery: Check out this thread and just get a battery which is compatible with HTC Desire 310, since this battery is working fine in the Jolla 1 (if you are using Jolla 1).

Regarding the shop: I suppose that Jolla is preparing it for the sale of the SFOS licenses for the Sony Xperia X. :)

I use several non Jolla batteries in my Jolla's, all without a problem;

Patona (2000mAh) for BOPA2100 aka HTC310

Polarcell (2100mAh) for HTC 310

IronGT (2200mAh) for HTC310

I didn't realise the shop had gone, but I'm not surprised, the only items left on sale were the Mapragbag and the leather case for Jolla1 - everything else, SOLD OUT

Sadly Jolla doesn't deliver any hardware anymore. If you need a new battery I would recommend this one:
https://www.jubatec.net/akkus/handyakkus/jolla/akku-fuer-jolla-smartphone-jp-1301/a-1102/
Rationale: Third-Party-Battery built explictly for Jolla1 and they don't say "it's original".

The battery from Desire 310 is not built for Jolla 1 and with a not fitted battery-firmware (load-threshold, temperature...) you could get into trouble. And if someone now sells "original" batteries they are either honest, which is okay, but then the batteries are really old or even worse - they are not honest.

Converting a comment to an answer by-passes the 'closed'-flag, really nice :D

I think you can give up on ever seeing any spare batteries. As they have been keen to point out lately, Jolla is strictly a software company these days. If they couldn't even get batteries to your door back when they still actually sold hardware, they most likely are not going to be able to now.

I'd say get an Xperia X and wait for the SF OS image instead of chasing the mirage of spare Jolla batteries. At least batteries for the Xperia are readily available - albeit more difficult to change.

I hadn't realised ... does this mean the jolla phone is dead then?

@tasos-p Why you think jolla phone is dead? You still getting updates on jolla phone. If you need spare battery I wrote above where you can buy original one.

i would not buy an xperia until the SFOS image is available for public and you can be sure that it works and you want to buy the image for the price it has.
