Pre-installed apps

Hi,

If this question has been asked before I apologize. I have tried to search for it and haven't found it as far as I have understood the question and answers that I have looked at.

My question is: Is there any app that you have to have on your phone when using Sailfish OS? E.g. an android phone where you can't uninstall G-mail, Hangouts, "News & Weather" etc.

Does Sailfish have any similar "forced upon you"-apps or is the user in full controll? If Sailfish do have them, how many are they and what are they used for?

Thank you,

E

(If my question is silly and naïve, I might add that I am more or less a smartphone hater. I don't have one, and never have had one, but as it is driving my husband nuts I think that I might have to get one.)

The Jolla store. Installing other apps is much harder without it.

Thank you for your answer!

It sounds like Sailfish OS is exactly what I was hoping for: an unclutered OS that leaves me in controll of what I have on my phone.

Thank you Pawel for your answer.

By the sound of your answers and other respondents comments it sounds like I and Sailfish OS might be a good match.

I do like that I am in full controll of what apps are installd on the phone except for, more or less, the verry basic apps that are required for the phone to operate as a phone and the camera to work.

Kind Regards,

E
